Drama in the Dodd House!

Well who would of thought that a DS game would put a 6 year old in tears, and I'm not talking just a little bit of tears, but the full blown, can't catch her breathe, hysterically crying! Allyson has been playing her new game Nintendog, which is where she has virtual dogs, its a pretty cool game, that she has to take care of the dogs. Well the first dog that she bought when she got the games was named Daisy, and she wanted to check Daisy into the dogie hotel, so that she can get some pampering, you know, because all dogs need to be pampered, and she went to the hotel to get her dog, and it kept telling her that they didn't have her dog. So she comes in the room telling me that the hotel is keeping her dog, and will not give it back! I played with it for a while and still no luck, and no Daisy. So now I tell her that I don't know where the dog is that she must of lost it, well I thought she was OK with that, she went back into the living room where about 5 mins later I hear her crying, she comes back in the room and is in full blown tears over losing her dog! Now Steve gets involved to see where Daisy might be. He goes to the hotel and it tells him the same thing, then he looks at the screen and it has 4 choices: Drop off dog, Swap dog, Pick up dog, and Donate dog, he asked Allyson what button she hit and she this one dad, DONATE dog, that's right she went and gave her dog away without even knowing it! So that lead to about another 15 mins of crying that she lost her dog forever! The way she cried you would have thought that she lost the real thing!
I felt bad for her, but at the same time I have to laugh about it because after all it is still just a game! Oh and after she went to bed Steve stayed up on it trying to her more money so that she can go and buy another dog. He's such a sweet daddy!

New Hair Do!

Last weekend I got so tired of Allyson's hair looking so rough, and she has been asking to get her hair cut short, so after church we went and had it chopped off! It came out a little shorter than what any of us was expecting but we love it now!

Here's a picture about a week before:
And here a few after shots:
I think the new hair cut makes her look older!

And it begins again......

My little break is now over and for the next few weeks will be very busy!!! I don't know what I was thinking deciding to take 4 classes and still work full time! Oh yeah, that I want to be done with school! That is my incentive to put my head down and just barrel through it, and int he end it will all be worth it. So I went yesterday and picked up my books for my classes, luckly one of my classes isn't using a book so I only had to buy 3 books, but I walked out of the bookstore still spending $220, that is crazy!! So this is what I will be looking at a lot of for the next couple of months.

Disney

Well living so close to Disney has it's advantages, that and a sister who works there! Yesterday I was able to take Allyson for the day! We had so much fun and didn't feel pressured to see everything and wear ourselves out either. We went on a few rides had lunch, and saw a couple of princess. I didn't even bring my camera, I really just wanted to have fun.

We got a Wii

Steve went to Best Buy a few days ago to pick up his order, and while in line he heard them say that they had a couple of Wii's in stock, so guess what he came home with? That's right a new Wii. I'm usually not the video type of person but this dang thing is addicting and pretty user friendly too! The first day we had it we played it when I got home from work at 5:00 and I didn't turned it off, until Steve left for work, at 11:00! Geez I'm going to get nothing accomplished this weekend at this rate! We have played every night! I love the bowling!

Happy New Year

Well another year has past, and we are on our way to another great year. This past year went by so fast, I still can't believe it's 2008 already! Last night Allyson and I rang in the new years watching the ball drop and toasting our "champagne" (which was really just sparkling grape juice), Allyson thought that was the best thing ever and to drink it from one of my real wine glasses made it even better. After the ball dropped we walked outside to watch some of the fireworks that was going on all around us, and then we were in bed by 1:00 this morning. Steve got to ring in the new year at work again, I can't remember the last new year's he was home with us.

I try not to make too many new year resolutions mostly for the fact that I never follow thru with them, but this year I am going to try to be a better mom, and continue to get good grades in school. Not much longer and I will be done with school! Yeah!!
